A communication lesson with the gardener, Valdemir.
I need to prune two trees here at home, and I sent him a message identifying myself, asking if he remembered me and the service I had done, and asking him to come by to take a look and give me a quote. And he replied with this message.
In 14 seconds he delivered everything.
It started with a greeting, he called me "boss".
It would be even better if you called me by my name.
But the boss's job is to acknowledge their position, generate respect, and create a connection.
He apologized for the delay... which wasn't even that long.
But it shows consideration.
He said he remembers me, that he's always around the neighborhood: meaning he got closer.
He spoke clearly and pointed the way straight away, without beating around the bush: he said, "I'll stop by, but I'll let you know beforehand by message.".
And he finished by thanking them.
It met all my expectations and moved the deal forward.
All this in 14 seconds.
Congratulations to Valdemir. I'll definitely hire him. Well, let's see the budget.
Those who communicate well don't usually charge cheap prices... let's see.
And you? How's your communication going?
Does your message make life easier or harder for the listener?
